Salary and dividends you take from your company are taxed on your personal return. For 2026, Yukon tax starts at 6.4% on the first $58,523 of taxable income and rises to 15% on income above $500,000, on top of federal rates from 14% to 33%. Because Yukon’s top bracket starts at $500,000, we review the salary and dividend mix for each owner at year end rather than using one rule for everyone.

Yukon has no PST and no HST, so a registered business charges 5% GST on sales made in Yukon. You must register once your taxable sales pass $30,000 in one calendar quarter or over four consecutive quarters. When you sell to a customer in an HST province, the place of supply rules decide the rate: a service supplied in Ontario carries 13% HST, shown on the invoice as one total rate, not 5% GST.

Yukon charges 0% on the first $500,000 of active business income of a Canadian-controlled private corporation, so that income is taxed only at the 9% federal rate. Income above the $500,000 limit is taxed at 27% combined: 12% Yukon plus 15% federal.

No. Yukon has no territorial sales tax, so a registered business charges 5% GST on sales made in Yukon. If the place of supply is an HST province, for example a service supplied in Ontario, the invoice carries that province’s HST instead, shown as one total rate.

You stop being a small supplier, and must register, once your taxable sales pass $30,000 in a single calendar quarter or over four consecutive calendar quarters. If you pass $30,000 in one quarter, you are registered from the day of the sale that took you over.

Yes, if you lived in Yukon on a permanent basis for at least six consecutive months. All of Yukon is a prescribed northern zone, so the basic residency amount is $11 a day, plus an additional $11 a day if you kept and lived in a home there and nobody else in it claims the basic amount.

Yes. A corporation with a permanent establishment in Yukon can claim 15% of eligible research and development spending carried out in Yukon, plus 5% of amounts paid to Yukon University. The credit reduces Yukon tax and any balance is refunded; the spending must be filed on Schedule 442 within 18 months of the tax year end.
